Congratulations to Troup ISD's Para-Professional of the Year, Amanda Griffin!
Amanda was born in Purcell, Oklahoma and moved to Tyler at the age of 13. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1994. Her family moved to the Troup area 10 years ago as her oldest daughter was starting kindergarten.
She became a substitute at the Troup ISD Child Care Center when her youngest daughter started attending the daycare at the age of 4. Amanda worked as the Assistant Director at the daycare for one year until it closed. She began substitute teaching at Troup High School 4 1/2 years ago. In 2017, Amanda had the opportunity to accept a full-time position at Troup High School as the front office receptionist. Now that her oldest daughter, Madalyn, is at the high school and Aubrey is starting her freshman year next fall, Amanda looks forward to watching them grow. "Troup High School is an awesome place to work" states Amanda.
