Congratulations to this group of THS students who have earned American Welding Society D1.1 Structural Welding Code Tack Weld Certifications!
Students have been working during the spring semester to earn an industry based certification in welding. These certifications are recognized throughout the welding industry, and will follow the students indefinitely as long as they stay actively involved in welding. Students were required to complete an industrial tack welding exercise, and their welds had to be within the acceptable industry standards for a qualifying weld. Welds were judged on size, continuity, proper fusion, and lack of porosity and undercut. These students passed all of the parameters required, and have now received their certification cards.
